Although skiing and snowboarding seem miles away right about now, the Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club wants to take this opportunity to recognize its many sponsors.
Each year TSSC provides countless local kids with memorable ski and snowboard seasons. They are coached, they learn, they travel, they compete, they laugh, they grow, they have fun. TSSC makes it possible for any child to participate in its programs, but such widespread opportunities wouldn’t exist without the generous support of its sponsors. Some sponsors have donated to the program for years, others are new to the game, all are incredibly appreciated.
One of the club’s original supporters is the Herrick Family and Telluride Helitrax. Ted, Todd and Jan Herrick began assisting TSSC almost two decades ago and their ongoing patronage has been sincerely appreciated over the years.
Other long-standing sponsors include Telluride Sports; Stuart and Joanna Brown, former owners of Between the Covers bookstore who continue to show their support, despite no longer living in town; the local banks, US Bank and Alpine Bank and Alpine Lodging. Jagged Edge (Erik Dalton) has been a club supporter and a major event sponsor since the very early days, as has Bootdoctors (the Gleason Family), now in conjunction with Paragon Sports.
Some of the more recent additions to the list of benefactors include Telluride Gravel (Greg Homan), La Piazza and Rustico (Paolo and Carmela Canclini), Telluride Mountain Lodge (Steve Togni) and Community Banks of Colorado (Tricia Maxon).
TSSC Executive Director Justin Chandler said he feels so fortunate for all the support these entities provide, no matter how long they have supported the club. In addition, TSSC also has a very hands-on approach to raising some of its own funds, with one of its biggest pushes happening this weekend at the Bluegrass Festival.
Telluride Ski and Snowboard Club, aka the Killer Flank booth, will have its usual spot on the vendor aisle. Come show your support by indulging in one (or more) of their decadent flank steak sandwiches and grilled corn on the cob. Both are about as addicting as face shots on a powder day.
Thank you to all TSSC sponsors and flank steak eaters.
